Fireworks

We want everyone to enjoy a fun, spooky and safe Halloween, and, in principle, do not consider celebrating Halloween to be anti-social behaviour.

However, irresponsible use of fireworks is considered anti-social behaviour, and in some cases may be a matter for police.

  • It is illegal to possess, purchase, sell, handle or use fireworks except under licence.

  • It is an offence to throw fireworks in the street or other public places.

  • Only buy fireworks from a licenced retailer.

If you have information about the sale of illegal fireworks you can contact the PSNI on 101 or report online at: https://www.psni.police.uk/report

Fireworks offences can carry a maximum fine of £5,000 or a three-month prison sentence, or both.
