Housing Allocations

You only need to complete one application to be considered by all social housing providers. You apply for housing and undergo a telephone interview or visit to assess your housing need. You are then registered on a Common Waiting List.

Properties are offered to applicants with the highest points, based on their housing need. If points are equal, the date of application determines the order of offers.

You can choose specific areas (unlimited number) where you’d like to live, and properties that meet your needs are offered within those areas.

You’re entitled to two reasonable offers of housing. Refusing two reasonable offers might mean you won’t receive further offers for a year.

Certain circumstances, such as past rent arrears, anti-social behaviour, or providing false information, can disqualify you from being housed.

In order to be considered for one of the new homes, an individual must be registered on the Common Waiting List.

You must be 18 years old or over to apply, although there are some exceptions for 16+17 years. 

You must have the right to reside in NI to apply.
